Everyday it seems like Internetland creates a new star of the future. The most anticipated. The next to blow. No longer do artists have to build a buzz by rocking shows, passing out demos, or doing the college radio tour thing to get heard. Today, all aspiring artists have to do is record a song and upload to the net. Then, bloggers everywhere jump on their nuts and act like this is the next dude that is going to save the rap world. Well, this is a blog and here is the next dude. Charles Hamilton is a 20 year old Harlem native who just signed to Pharrell's Star Trak label (which means Jimmy has his hands in the mix) so he's got more going for him than the next rapper. This is the only song I've heard from the kid so I'm not going to co-sign yet, but it is refreshing to hear somebody that is on his own shit and doesn't rap about bitches, money and guns. Well, I guess he's rapping about bitches but he doesn't call them bitches (okay, he says bitches once) so we'll give him a pass this time around. Decide for yourself if he's worthy the hype and the space on your hard drive.
