Santogold is pretty fresh. They've been compared to M.I.A. but I don't really see it. Too many influences in Santogold's music make it hard to put a specific label on it but if I had too call it something I'd call it IndieRockAlternativeElectroPunkGrimeDancehallHipHopDub. Led by vocalist Santi White and guitarist/keyboardist John Hill, Santogold's buzz has been building for the past year mostly due to their song "Creator" and they recently released their debut album on Downtown Records (Gnarlz Barkley, Justice, Kid Sister, Spank Rock, Mos Def). They've worked with Diplo, Switch, Freq Nasty, and even M.I.A. herself. If you are not up on Santogold yet we offer you, for your downloading pleasure, their album free of charge. As always, if you download it for free make sure you check Santogold on tour and put some money in their pocket or something (so I don't feel guilty).
