Rapper Commercials

JAN29

Fat Boys Swatch Ad (circa 1985)
- I'd never seen this one. As corny as rap commercials come, but dope still for some reason.

LL Cool J Hotline Ad (circa 1989)
- This is just a commerical for LL's hotline to hear songs from his 'new' album. Hotlines used to sucker me in when I was a kid, especially those 1-900 ones.

Kid N Play Sprite Ad (circa 1991)
- I'd never seen this one either. Kid N Play were the friendly rappers so it's no surprise they got scooped up by Sprite.

MC Hammer KFC Ad (circa 1992)
- This one is just embarassing.

The Rappin' McNuggets (circa 199?)
- This just brings back memories. Rap music getting exploited at it's worst, but it did made me eat some nuggets.

Redman Karl Kani Ad (circa 1995)
- This is a good one, everything Redman did (except that sitcom) is dope in my books.

50 Cent & Jay-Z Reebok Ad (circa 2004)
- Curtis and Hov rapping in a studio about their sneakers.

Biggie St. Ides Ad (circa 1995)
- All the St. Ides commericals were dope and this was one of the best, plus there isn't a mp3 for it so you gotta check the video.

Fat Joe Eastern Motors Ad (circa 2006)
- Hahaha. Fat Joe slanging cars. Check how Joe came up with the chorus for "Make It Rain".

BONUS: Michael Jackson Pepsi Ad (1984)
- this was the dopest commercial back in the day. It's also the commercial MJ was doing when his hair caught on fire.

Check more rap commercials at Complex. They did the 10 Worst Rapper Commercials ever, but I actually liked some of them so I flipped it and just reminisced.
