"Let me be different. Let me be that person that you're not used to hearing... I got to the point, between the last album and this album, where I stopped apologizing for being the person I am. I feel I owe it to people to be 100% honest in my lyrics. I'm just satisfied with who I am, and who I'm turning out to be."
Born and raised in West London, Estelle draws influence from a blend of Hip-Hop, Pop, Reggae and Soul. Not only does she have the #1 single in the UK right now, but this girl is destined to be star. She can sing, she can rap, and she can perform. Most importantly she knows how to put it all together to make great music. Her first major North American release is Shine, which is set to be released on John Legends' Homeschool label April 29th, and is crazy! By now you've probably heard "American Boy" feat. Kanye West, so here are a few more joints from her new album for your listening enjoyment. No, I'm not going to post the whole thing but if you are slick the album is out there in internet land (Solid was released in the UK today).
